The Lisburn Downtown is a community hub.
Our doors are open 2-4pm Tuesdays and Thursdays, offering tea/coffee and a friendly, open atmosphere. Everybody is welcome to come along and relax with a cuppa, have a natter and connect with old friends and even make some new friends. Each week we provide different activities from Chair based Yoga, Crafts, Pool, Darts to sessions surrounding coping and dealing with daily stressors; people can partake at their own chosen level, with no pressures.
We also facilitate 2 referral sessions.
- The Friday club, 10.30am-12.30, is for adults suffering a Mental Health problem, referred to us via their social worker or GP. Friday’s have a greater focus on mental health and self-help methods. Our amazing team of volunteers also offer a cooked lunch for our Friday club members every Friday for just £3.00!
- The Welcome club, 10.30am-12.30, is open on Mondays and supports adults with a mild learning difficulty, again referred to us via their social worker or GP. This group helps to support adults who don’t feel they ‘fit’ with the larger day centre support.
Generally, the focus of Downtown is for those who are feeling isolated and need somewhere to go, some where to belong. The Downtown is a home from home, with no demands placed on members and a calm, relaxed environment.
