The Welcome Club is a drop-ingroup adults who have a mild learning disability, or who are socially isolated and keen to make new friends. This club offers a friendly environment to meet new people and runs every Monday morning from 10.30am – 12.30pm. Our aim is to provide a place for people with a mild learning disability to meet socially and develop social networks. We provide a social outlet for people with learning disabilities and to promote social interaction in a relaxed comfortable environment .
The volunteers who support the group provide guidance and information, and help facilitate social interaction within the group and encourage social networking outside group environment. We always have refreshments on hand, and speakers often visit and talk on a range of topics chosen by group members.
Please note: To attend a referral is needed from a Social Worker or GP, so please contact the Downtown Coordinator for further details.
